Q security features

Aspex Q offers an incredibly high level of built-in security within its features, in order to securely transcode encrypted premium content and redeliver it securely to any destination, whether on board, wired or wireless.

HDCP

A High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) descrambler is included on-chip, allowing encoding/transcoding of content from HDCP sources. HDCP keys are stored securely in on-chip "write-once" memory. An on-chip fuse is included to disable the HDCP output if required.

AES/3DES crypto block

The AES/3DES crypto block can be used to encrypt video content after encoding, for example to protect HDCP content which has been encoded for transmission over wireless.

The crypto block can also be used to descrable a software boot image or used by digital managment algorithms running on the System Stream Processor (SSP).

Q supports 128- and 256-bit AES/3DES encryption with keys stored securely on a one-time-programmable (OTP) on-chip ROM.

OTP ROM

Q includes 1K bits of OTP on-chip memory to securely load boot images as well as store encryption keys, serial numbers and other OEM's proproetory and/or sensitive information.
