Aspex’s unique 1-dimensional scalability makes it easy to dial up whatever performance you need, and allows you to create products with multiple price:performance points to address multiple market segments.
Linear price:performance
Multiple chips can be cascaded together to dial up whatever performance your application needs.
Memory bandwidth scales alongside processing power, allowing you to avoid system
bottlenecks.
.
And best of all, scalability can be achieved with the same software binaries, allowing you to create a scalable processing engine with a single development project.

Simple One-Dimensional String Connectivity
Connecting multiple chips together in a One-Dimensional “string” configuration
is far easier than managing interprocessor communications in
a Two-Dimensional network.
Regardless of the length of the string array, extending it is a matter of connecting two ends together, just like tying a rope.
By contrast,
connecting multiple Two-Dimensional mesh or
grid networks together is like trying to join
pieces of netting - the number of connections
to be made increases dramatically with the number
of elements.
Taking Linedancer as an example, connecting
4 chips together only requires 4 bus connections
to be made between the chips. By contrast, a
Two-Dimensional array processor with 4K processing
elements would need more than 250 bus connections!
