The WiMAX Development Kit consists of an Accelera
3000 PCI-X card, Aspex’s WiMAX PHY reference code, and an integrated MATLAB
testbench environment which allows system designers to perform “hardware-in-the-loop” system
simulations.
Fast time-to-market for high performance infrastructure solutions
Aspex Semiconductor’s WiMAX development kit provides customers with an accelerated path to launching WiMAX certified infrastructure products. Consisting of the Accelera™ 3000 PCI-X card, integrated with a MatLab system modeling environment and Aspex’s 802.16d/e WiMAX PHY Software Reference Design for the Linedancer™ family of Extreme Processors.
The Aspex 802.16d/e PHY Software Reference Design implements all the mandatory features of the 802.16-2004 OFDM PHY as well as supporting optional features such as sub-channelization and multi-antenna techniques such as Adaptive Antenna Systems (AAS), Space-Time-Coding (STC), Multiple Input, Multiple Output (MIMO) and Advanced Beam Forming

Integrated MATLAB system
modelling environment
The WiMAX Development Kit is integrated with Matlab, allowing system architects to model subscriber and channel scenarios in the familiar Matlab environment, whilst co-simulating with the Aspex WiMAX PHY layer, which executes in real-time on a PCI-X plug-in card.

The WiMAX PHY code executes on the Linedancer processor, with the same arithmetic precision and bit-for-bit performance as your final target system. System designers can therefore be confident that the performance observed in the simulation environment will be matched in the real world.
This “hardware in the loop” modeling methodology eliminates the costly, laborious and time-consuming verification steps required for a hardware-based implementation flow, such as FPGA or ASIC. High Performance WiMAX PHY Reference Code
