ASProCore parallel processing
array
The ASProCore is at the heart of Linedancer, and consists of an array of 4,096 small processors, each containing an ALU, memory, and a high speed inter-processor communications network.
All the processors work in parallel, performing instructions on data held in their local memory in a Single Instruction, Multiple Data (SIMD) configuration, allowing the array to perform up to 800 billion instructions per second.
An ultra-high speed communications network allows processing elements to share data, with on-chip data bandwidths up to 3,200 gigabits per second.
For simplicity of programming, the ASProCore array acts as a single co-processor to the 32-bit RISC CPU.
